QCAA calls on all students, faculty, and staff to stand with CUPE workers fighting for a fair deal.
Join the Support the Workers rally tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, at 11:45 a.m. at Richardson Hall.
The 1000 tradespeople, custodians and caretakers, food service workers, and library, classroom, and lab technicians who keep Queen’s running are facing monetary offers among the worst in the Ontario university sector.
Their pay has dropped 11-15 % below inflation in recent years. At the same time, senior administrators and others making over $100,000 enjoyed average increases of 8.9 % in 2024 alone.
No Queen’s employee should have to take a second job in order to make ends meet.
Together, we can pressure Queen’s and Aramark* to bargain in good faith to address the impact of the cost-of-living crisis before the February 3 strike deadline.
In the meantime, please use this link to tell the administration that our colleagues and the students who rely on their services deserve better.
Faculty, staff and students unite! One struggle, one fight!
* Aramark is the employer of all food service and hospitality workers at Queen’s.
